Why we live, work and love this area;

Ayamonte is a pretty little Spanish fishing town based at the mouth of the river Guadiana and opposite Villa Real de Santo Antonio its Portugeses neighbour which is only 1km away across the river via a pleasurable 15 minute ride on the ferry.
Ayamonte boasts many wonderful tapas and coffee bars and typical Spanish restaurants along with many little shops based in its narrow cobbled streets.
Like all Spanish towns and villages they do like to enjoy their festivals such as Carnival in January, Easter parades and the main Ferria in September. These are quite spectacular and are well worth a visit. Ayamonte also has numerous churches monuments and places of interest to view during your stay.
Just because Ayamonte is in Spain please do not assume that this area is anything like Costa del Sol with its noisy bars, clubs and heavy tourism. This area is very tranquil and relaxing. We have a good choice of golf courses and lovely waterfront areas such as Isla Canela, Islantila and Punta Umbria which offer long golden sandy beaches ideal for taking those lazy walks along the shoreline or just to enjoy the sun. There are a mixture of chirenquitos coffee bars and restaurants to enjoy all along this coastline. Ayamonte is only 45 minutes by car from Portugal's Faro airport in the Algarve and 90 minutes from Seville. Both airports are serviced by many Uk airlines who in turn offer some fantastic deals.
